Within this course, you’ll explore Neutral Standard English (NSE), the UK standard accent for Film and TV. We will explore this accent by engaging with its resonance, shape and placement. You’ll work creatively through Zoom at sounding and feeling English. Working online is a great way to engage with accent work. You are able to find nuances within the accent and get instant focused feedback.

We will include work on:

  • Breath and bodywork to create a ‘whole accent’
  • Sound placement/resonant focus
  • UK glossary and ‘give away sounds’
  • Exploring key vowel and consonant changes physically; analysing tongue and mouth movement
