Tahirah Amandla Sharif is a British actress best known for her performances as student Carrie Norton in “Waterloo Road” (2015), Rebecca Jessel in the Netflix horror anthology series “The Haunting of Bly Manor” (2020), and PC Lizzie Adama in “The Tower” (2021).

Tahirah Sharif is an actor whose comprehensive training at top drama school Identity School of Acting has refined her craft. She studied screen acting, audition technique, text & performance, Stanislavski, Meisner, radio plays & audiobooks, monologues, improvisation, and voice. Tahirah performed exceptionally in her screen course, which has a strong focus on delivering truthful and realistic screen performances, ultimately preparing her for a Supporting Actress BAFTA nomination for her role in “The Tower.”

One of Tahirah Sharif’s earliest roles was as the lead in the Film 4 short “See Me.” In 2012, she appeared in the BBC drama “One Night” as Madison and in the second series of the ITV drama “Whitechapel” as Chantal Essian. That same year, Sharif performed on stage, playing Esther Adams in “Moon on a Rainbow Shawl” at The National Theatre and Dunyazade in “Arabian Nights” at the Tricycle Theatre. She then made her feature film debut in “The Invisible Woman” as Rosa, acting alongside Ralph Fiennes and Felicity Jones.

In 2013, Sharif was cast as Ella, the mischievous teenage daughter of Martin Ashford (Patrick Robinson), in the BBC series “Casualty.” Her first scenes aired on May 4, 2013, and she remained on the show until May 17, 2014. Following “Casualty,” Sharif reprised her role as Esther Adams for the UK national tour of “Moon on a Rainbow Shawl.”

In 2015, Sharif joined the cast of the long-running school drama “Waterloo Road” as student Carrie Norton. Her storylines included the return of her brother, Guy Braxton (Regé-Jean Page), and her relationship with Lenny Brown (Joe Slater). That same year, she appeared as Kile in the sci-fi short film “Pulsar,” alongside Jessie Buckley and David Gyasi, and played Katie in “Firebird” at Hampstead Theatre, which was later transferred to the West End’s Trafalgar Studios in 2016.

In 2017, Sharif starred as Melissa in Netflix’s holiday film “A Christmas Prince,” which was followed by two sequels, “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding” in 2018 and “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby” in 2019. She also starred as Rebecca Jessel in the Netflix horror anthology series “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” released in October 2020.
