Tobi Bakare is a talented English actor, born in 1989 in London, England. He is best known for his role as Officer J.P. Hooper in the popular BBC crime drama series “Death in Paradise,” which he joined in 2015. His portrayal of the earnest and likable police officer earned him widespread recognition and acclaim.

In addition to his screen work, Bakare has also trained at top drama school Identity School of Acting, honing his craft and focusing on delivering authentic and compelling performances. He studied screen acting, audition technique, text & performance, Stanislavski, Meisner, radio plays & audiobooks, monologues, improvisation, and voice. This dedication to his craft has seen him continue to take on diverse roles across television and film, including appearances in “The Tunnel” and the “Kingsman: Golden Circle.”

Bakare’s career began with roles in TV series such as “Holby City,” “Silent Witness,” and “The Bill.” His film debut came with a minor role in “The Somnambulists” in 2012, followed by more significant roles in “Kingsman: The Secret Service” (2014) and its sequel “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” (2017), where he played the character Jamal.
